I wanted to let everyone know that I am still working out of Fort Wayne, IN as the Air Traffic Manager. It is supposed to be a temporary position, but who knows. More than likely it will stretch clear through the summer. Right now I am basically working Monday thru Thursday, so I should still have plenty of time to fly, but it will be difficult getting there for Wed. flying and meetings. I would like to continue as the treasure of the club if that works for all of you. If you think that it would work best to have someone that can make more of the meetings, etc.; then I definitely understand.

Thank you for the notice of Rod's passing. I just want to let everyone know how much Rod will be missed. He was a good person and helped so many through his work as pastor.

Just so everyone will know, the Ionia County Model Aircraft Club has ordered flowers and will have them delivered to the Funeral Home on Monday (Jan 11th).

During the summer months the IONIA COUNTY MODEL AIRCRAFT CLUB runs Student Nights on Wednesday evenings at Walter field. Weather permitting; there will generally be several of the clubs instructors that will be on hand to help you learn how to fly. To fly unassisted at the field, you must have demonstrated the ability to safely handle your plane on the ground and in the air to the flight instructors. Until you have done so, you must be assisted by one of our designated flight instructors.
Things you will need if you wish to learn to fly:

NOTICE: ICMAC Dues Are due($50) at the January meeting. I will be posting a form to print, fill out and mail. If you wish to do so.

Club Holiday dinner will be at the lamp light grill @ 6:30 Jan 16 2010. Everyone is invited please join us.

Frozen finger fun fly is Jan 1 @ noon.

Jeff Walter, Darrel Davis and I have started to make some pit tables at Walter Field. These are intended for Helicopter preflight/Starting as well as working on airplanes. Just to note these are NOT intended for starting airplanes. As you can see on the pic we have made shelving for your field boxes. Small tables have 1 large tables have 2 . We have plans to make up to 2 more of these. We hope you all enjoy them and put them to good use.
